What is Wicca?

Wicca is a modern pagan, witchcraft religion that draws upon a diverse set of ancient pagan and 20th-century hermetic motifs for its theological structure and ritual practices.

At its core, Wicca celebrates the sacredness of nature, honors the divine feminine and masculine, and follows the Wheel of the Year through eight seasonal festivals.

Is Wicca Witchcraft?

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Magical Practice

Wicca incorporates magical practices, but it's primarily a spiritual path focused on harmony with nature and personal growth.

๐ŸŒฟ

Nature-Based

While witchcraft can be secular, Wicca is a religion that reveres nature and sees the divine in all things.

โš–๏ธ

Ethical Framework

Wicca follows the Wiccan Rede: "An it harm none, do what ye will," providing an ethical foundation for practice.

๐ŸŒ•

Moon Phases

Wiccans often align their rituals with lunar cycles, honoring the moonโ€™s energy for intention setting and release.

๐Ÿ”ฎ

Divination Tools

Practices like tarot, runes, and scrying are commonly used by Wiccans to gain insight and spiritual clarity.

๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€๏ธ

Priestess & Priest Roles

Wicca embraces both feminine and masculine divine energy, often represented by a High Priestess and High Priest in rituals.

๐Ÿ”ฅ

Elemental Forces

Wiccans work with the four classical elementsโ€”Earth, Air, Fire, and Waterโ€”as essential forces in their practices.

Our Story

1962

Birth of Luna de Marzo

Founded under the full moon in March by High Priestess Selene Moonweaver, our coven began as a small gathering of seekers in the forests of Northern California.

1974

First Public Ritual

We held our first public Beltane celebration, introducing Wicca to the local community and beginning our tradition of open Sabbats.

1988

Expansion

Luna de Marzo established sister covens in three new states, spreading our tradition while maintaining our core teachings.

Present

Modern Wicca

Today we continue to honor the old ways while adapting to modern times, offering both in-person and virtual gatherings for our widespread community.

How to Begin Your Wiccan Path

1

Study & Learn

Begin with foundational books about Wicca and witchcraft. We recommend starting with "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham.

2

Connect with Nature

Spend time outdoors observing the cycles of the moon, seasons, and elements. Keep a journal of your observations and experiences.

3

Simple Rituals

Start with basic practices like moon phase observations, candle magic, or creating a small altar with meaningful objects.

4

Join a Community

Attend open circles or study groups. Luna de Marzo offers beginner workshops monthly.

"As a former skeptic, I was surprised by how deeply Wiccan philosophy resonated with me. It's not about 'magic' in the fairy tale sense, but about aligning yourself with natural energies."

Meditation & Visualization

Regular meditation is a cornerstone of our practice. Through visualization, we manifest our intentions and connect with divine energies.

Try our simple daily practice:

  1. Ground yourself with deep breaths
  2. Visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth
  3. Imagine a glowing light above your head
  4. Let this light flow through your body
  5. Hold your intention clearly in mind
  6. Release the energy to do its work

Manifest Your Life

๐Ÿ“

Clarify Intentions

Be specific about what you want to manifest. Write it down clearly.

๐Ÿ’Ž

Create Correspondences

Use colors, crystals, herbs and symbols that align with your goal.

๐ŸŒŒ

Visualize Daily

See your desire as already manifested in your mind's eye.

๐Ÿ”„

Release Attachment

Trust the universe's timing. Don't cling to outcomes.
